SILICON SLOPES, Utah, April 23, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Domo (Nasdaq: DOMO), provider of the leading cloud-based operating system for business, today announced that Daniel Daniel, former managing director at Blackrock, has joined its board of directors.
At BlackRock, Daniel was a senior investor researching companies around the world impacted by technological change. On the $60 billionGlobal Allocation Fund, he was responsible for investments across a wide range of technology markets spanning software, hardware, internet, e-commerce, communications and more. His public market investments covered companies from the largest technology businesses on the planet to smaller companies with the profile to disrupt entire markets. Beyond Domo, his private company investments included Twitter, Uber, Dropbox and Palantir, to name a few.
He is now starting his own investment firm that will focus on the technology sector. Daniel will also fill the seat on Domo’s board vacated by Matt Cohler, Domo’s first VC investor who served on its board for almost eight years.
Domo founder and CEO Josh James commented, “Matt is a visionary and understands trends and great user experiences unbelievably well. He taught me many valuable insights into how to build a business and I’m grateful for his contributions, particularly his insights in leveraging the user experience as a core differentiator and in building for scale.”
“As we take the next step in our journey, I’m excited to welcome Daniel to the board. He was a long-time observer who understands where we’ve been, where we are and where we are headed. Daniel has invested in the largest companies and has seen the largest scale, and I’m excited to bring that perspective to the board.”
In addition to BlackRock, Daniel also served as a special situations analyst and global hedge funds sales director at UBS. He earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Utah, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA Charterholder.
